ONE PHOTOGRAPH.
Finished images are built from a series of photographs, each lighting a different part of the car. Time is spent getting the reflections right on location, then carefully blending those frames together. The goal is a photograph that feels natural, even when a lot of work went into it.
Concept & Reference
We start with the car and how it should be photographed. References are gathered, the mood and color palette are worked out, and the details to bring forward are decided.
Location Scouting
A setting is chosen that suits the car, paying attention to the light, the background, and what’s reflected in the paint. Timing matters, too. The same location can look completely different a few hours later.
Lighting
A large studio strobe on a C-stand with a large diffuser is used, moving the light around the car to photograph each section. This setup delivers soft, controlled reflections and the polished finish the work demands.
Capture
The camera stays fixed on a tripod while we work around the car. Separate frames are captured for the bodywork, wheels, glass, and other details, adjusting the light until each area looks right.
Compositing
Those frames are brought together by hand, carefully masking in the light from each exposure. Most of the work is in the transitions, making sure the reflections and shadows feel consistent across the whole car.
Finishing & Delivery
Once the composite is together, color is refined, highlights and shadows are balanced, and distractions are cleaned up. The image is reviewed as a whole to make sure everything works together before the final files are prepared.
